People are blogging the hurricane, (updated to add: including this local news station, and how to volunteer in N'awlins) staying in touch, offering first-hand accounts and updates on the storm. It's interesting to see how LJ's phone posts are working when the power - and internet - can't. LJ users have opened up their homes to near-strangers who couldn't evacuate in time. As much as I love seeing the power of blogs connecting people, I feel the most for people who don't have those sort of luxuries at their disposal. Donate to the Red Cross, won't you?
There's a whole page on Technorati that Niall set up, too.
Keep safe down there, yall.
